Childhood Bereavement Changemaker Collaborative

The Childhood Bereavement Changemaker (CBC) Collaborative is an initiative developed by Judi’s House/JAG Institute in partnership with the New York Life Foundation to support agencies in using the Childhood Bereavement Estimation Model (CBEM) to better understand grief in their communities.

Organizations from across the nation submitted RFPs to participate in the first-ever CBC Collaborative. RFPs are currently being reviewed and finalists will be announced in November.

Selected organizations will gain detailed information about childhood bereavement in their own communities.  Equipped with this knowledge, organizations will have the data necessary to inform planning, influence change, increase funding, and enhance overall impact ensuring bereaved children in their communities have the care they need.

Chosen CBC Collaborative participants will receive:

  • Collaboration with the experienced Judi’s House/JAG Institute (JH/JAG) team of researchers, clinicians, and multi-disciplinary staff

  • Access to JH/JAG resources and networks

  • Comprehensive community needs assessment/gap analysis

  • Customized CBEM report designed to support organizational strategic goals and objectives

  • Meeting coordination and forum for CBC Community

  • Technical assistance

  • Practical recommendations

  • Connection and engagement with other local and national partners in the childhood bereavement field

  • Identification as a partner in the CBC Collaborative

NOTE: The CBC Collaborative RFP closed August 30, 2019, but Childhood Bereavement Estimation Model (CBEM) resources and reports can still be found here.
