Judi’s House is a comprehensive grief center serving children ages 3-18, young adults 18-25, and parents and caregivers of grieving youth. Services are provided free of charge to children and families grieving a death loss of any kind.

Children and their adult caregivers learn healthy coping skills for dealing with the death of a loved one. Through programs such as Pathfinders, highlighted in the video to the right, families are given the freedom to grieve in their own way and at their own pace, and ultimately learn that hope and healing are possible.

Our overarching goals are to promote resilience, growth and healthy adjustment to loss, while preventing complications of unaddressed grief and trauma associated with the death.

Most families who participate in programs at Judi’s House start in our core program, Pathfinders.

Pathfinders is a research-based, ten-week curriculum developed at Judi’s House that is tailored to meet the needs of bereaved children and families.

Youth meet in age-appropriate groups while their caregivers meet simultaneously in separate groups, all utilizing parallel versions of the Pathfinders curriculum. The Pathfinders groups provide opportunities to:

  • Share stories and experiences
  • Explore and express grief
  • Develop coping skills
  • Engage in activities that encourage memorializing
    and integrating loss into life
